PICCOLO Project Face-to-Face Meeting, Florence, Italy, January 2018

Meeting at LENS, the European Laboratory for Non-Linear Spectroscopy, progress for the first year of the PICCOLO project was presented. Hardware has been developed, from tunable lasers for OCT, scanning probe for the endoscope, fluorescence imaging endoscopic system to a compact high power laser for multi-photon tomography. Some of this hardware has been completed and is now being tested, while others have made good progress and continue to be optimised. Discussions ranged around the results, along with planning how the tests on animal and human tissue will proceed in the next year. Ethical and laser safety standards are being met, as we ensure that this research will be available to the public after the project ends.

Next meeting to be held in Cáceres, Spain.
